Margarito packing plaster vs Maravilla Martinez?

This may be posted in the wrong section. Feel free to move it if that's the case.

But I've been watching a few Sergio Martinez fights again recently, and I'm curious as to what everyone's opinions are regarding to whether Margarito could potentially have been using loaded gloves in their fight? I know it was Martinez first fight outside Argentina and he was young and more inexperienced but he faced some really tough fighters after that fight and I don't recall him ever being battered around and hurt to that extent. But I guess the question would be, how early did Margarito start packing his gloves? And once he did, did he use them for every fight or just for big fights? Curious what everyone's opinions are on this. I've heard as far as Martinez is concerned, he has said that Margarito kicked his ass fair and square and has
Not tried to try and use the loaded glove story as
    Any sort of
    Possible excuse for the loss.

No he wasnt loaded. Even for Mosley, they only found a pinch of substance, a fkin pinch.

Its annoying when these ignorant dudes who dont know sht about boxing talk about plasters and sht as if dude was caught with brass knuckles or somesht.

      Margarito is innocent

Hmmm. I recall marg getting caught with something inside his glove and subsequently gettting suspended by the professional commission due to the substance in his gloves. I could be misrecalling doe. Someone please confirm my recollection or refresh my memory.

          Exactly...

If I am not mistaken he only got "banned" for 1 year and only in one state. Didn't he fight in Mexico the same year? The athletic commissions or sanctioning bodies didn't take it seriously either because they knew that it was a whole lotta nothing turned into something because it was "Brotha" ****m who "caught him."

Nah, Martinez was really inexperienced back then when he fought Margacheato. Martinez only had 16 wins on his record when he fought Margacheato so it was Martinez inexperience.

I don't believe Margacheato used plaster wraps his whole career.

Alot of people think Margacheato used plaster wraps during the early to mid 2000's.

Alot of other people think he started loading up his gloves after the Paul Williams loss to get himself back up there.

He didn't load up his whole career, but for certain fights and during a certain stint in his career he did.

Some can say otherwise, but I'm pretty sure he did.

The Sebastian Lujan fight is where he started doing it. He went from getting clearly outboxed and not even being able to move Daniel Santos, to almost ripping a dude's ear off with his punches. As soon as they caught him doing it against Mosley all of a sudden he couldn't crack an egg. He looked feather-fisted against Shane and couldn't even hurt anyone he fought after that fight. Those of you who are seriously think he's innocent and didn't do it need to be slapped, seriously.

Ummm......yes'sir. He was caught with plaster of paris substance in his wraps and suspended, you're not dreaming it.

But I'm sure that was his only time trying to do that. I mean why would he have used loaded wraps in his previous fight against a guy who had already beat Mosley. Hey, it makes sense to me.

Great point. Normal punches with gloves don't rip and shred ears apart like that. Not even Mike Tyson's biting of Holyfield's ear looked as bad as Lujan's ear.

Being allowed to fight in Mexico is absolutely not a reflection of innocence. In a sport full of corruption, **** south of the border is the worst.

Hell, this is the same country that let Margo get licensed to fight, despite clear physical restrictions, then bailing the guy out mid-fight when he's getting pasted.

I understand aversion to circumstantial evidence, but...believing Margo is clean is pretty much burying your head in the sand.
