Why no fights this year? Money ran out?
What is going on with PBC?

they just announced the leo and abner doubleheader on fox. The three fox cards are all that pbc has this year. The rest of the pbc cards are all fs1 low level farm fights and small quarterly bounce shows. Thank God for PBC having Showtime for premium network subscribers or they wouldn't have anything have an outlet.
I wish they would just cut down their roster to a size showtime can accommodate. Its absolutely criminal that Mares after his big win in December and Santa Cruz after his big win in January won't fight again until October. They lost all their momentum. Same thing with Wilder after stopping Washington he was supposed to be back in July and then again in November. We are already in September and he has nothing scheduled. I am sure he will fight once more this year but most of these PBC guys are having their careers stall out.Comment

its dead if you have not noticed. only had a couple fights this year and they were financed by showtime. the lil crappy fights with bums and unknowns dont cost much so they will continue. everything else is on showtime. does showtime coutn as pbc now??? what happened to all the monies!Comment

still defending to the bitter end. even when pbc is dead you will still be making up excuses ad saying its savign boxing. they have had a huge drop off in cards this year and a lot of the cards they did have were financed by showtime not by pbc. is this good for the pbc? do their fighters like not fighting and not making money?Comment

I like many of PBCs matchups this year. They had competitive fights, but you cant deny that they have less and less shows since they started around 2-3 years ago.
In the first year they threw all their money to get as much shows as possible. We sometimes had friday fights on espn/Spike, Saturday fights at Fox and sunday afternoon fights at NBCSports, although it was much more quantity over quality during that period.
Concerning free boxing, which was the big selling point of PBC, they dont offer many quality fights anymore.
Fox is home to deontay wilder. The other fight which was headlined on Fox was Guerrero Vs Figuoeroa (lol) and I think the fourth broadcast is supposed to be Mares and Santa Cruz in tune up fights (lol).
There was one fight on CBS, which was a big and meaningful fight (Thurman Vs Garcia), but other than that there is only FS1 for prospects in tough fights and lower level title fights and BOUNCE for lower title fights also (Easter & Warren).
Most of PBC fights are playing out on Showtime, which did a great year to give us good and meaningful fights, but lets be honest, the current state of affairs for PBC isnt what they envisioned when they started the whole thing.
I hope they dont go the same route as last year and just shut down during the last quarter of the year, in which they only had 2 events.Comment
