After he beats GGG and knocks out Mayweather in a rematch, he will be.

I would say yes. He the most famous fighter of his era probably only rivaled by Anthony Joshua. He's beaten a few Hall of Famers although both way past their prime.

He's been in big events and won his mini rivalries with both Lara and Trout although controversially. He has a few highlight reel knockouts and a media darling for the most part.

Considering nowadays it's so much easier to get into the Hall of Fame compared to yesteryears I'd have to say yes.

No, he could start losing key fights and lose all his momentum. Beat Golovkin and he's almost there. Beat one more big name after that and it's a lock.

no. if ggg does a number on him then his resume could be looked at very differently. it would show him losing his two biggest tests. theres not really a great win on his CV, his win over lara was also highly controversial although i believe he deserved the nod. cotto had seen better days.

Of course he is. Anyone saying otherwise is a brain damaged moron with rose-tinted glasses about the past.

I think he will go to the hall of fame for what he has already done. Even if GGG knocks him out he will continue to win fights and world titles after losing to GGG. His only losses would be to GGG and Mayweather who are both great. Many boxers are already in the hall of fame with many more than 2 losses and not near the achievements of Canelo. If he beats GGG he is in right there. Someone said he needed to beat Mayweather in a rematch to make it to the hall, That is impossible because Mayweather is retired and is too smart to return and take a loss by fighting Canelo. The Mayweather we saw KO Conor is a shell of the prime Mayweather and would get crushed by today's Canelo.
