I'm not especially familiar with all the Cubans that won medals. One of our best, two time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez (23), didn't even compete.

As for Robeisy, it's not so easy for a 23 year old Cuban to turn pro. I don't know how difficult the current situation makes it for him, but it's not easy. He'll have to do it soon to realize his full potential. Gamboa and Lara were 25 when they defected, and Rigo was almost 29. Any professional sport requires an early start for ultimate success. Boxing is unforgiving.
