He has been knocked down a few times, but never seemed to be shaken or buzzed. Plus, Loma doesn't have dynamite in his gloves.
KO? Maybe. Easy? I don't think so.Comment

I like Loma, but having him P4P #1 just isn't right to me. The sensationalism around Loma is making it more difficult to just be boxing fans of Loma. Based on what he has done compared to other boxers, there's no way he should be top dawg. I can see him in 5-10 though. The guy is super talented.Comment

I just watched clips of Rigondeaux vs Donaire. I forgot how much bigger Donaire was than Rigondeaux. Donaire wasn't as skilled as Lomachenko but he was probably faster. If Rigondeaux is still as skilled as he was against Donaire this fight could be a lot more competitive. I still have Lomachenko winning but this will be a good technical fight.Comment

Obviously Loma is very talented but it's ridiculous that a guy with only 10 pro fights, who lost 1 of those fights is rated #1 p4p by anyone. Nevertheless compared to Ali. Especially when you consider that he hasn't defeated any other fighter that was even close to being considered a top p4p fighter. His best wins were vs an unproven Russell Jr and a version of walters who hadn't fought in a year. His ranking as a pro has nothing to do with his amateur accomplishments and I think people are taking into consideration that he's a 2 time gold medal winner which has nothing to do with how he's ranked as a pro.
As for Gary Russell, I mean he looks like the best fighter at 126 in a division with some good offensive fighters, especially Santa Cruz, but he still looks like the best one there. Is he better than Indongo? Yes. Is he better than Postol? Yes that would be a 12-0 fight if they were in the same weight class unless Postol knocked him out, and Postol has a 50% KO percentage or something very low. So don't downplay Lomachenko's best wins to keep him off the P4P list unless you're willing to concede that they're still much better than Terence Crawford's best ones, and you keep him even further off the list than Lomachenko as a result.
In other words, be consistent.Comment

I can't believe anyone would have him P4P top 5??? I mean Fat Dan was asked that question and his answer was "H e passes the eye test". WTF?? So has getting credit for fight that haven't even happened yet and NOT his current resume like it should be.
He LOST TO Salido who has like 12 loses! Mikey Garcia knocked him down like 4-5 times. So *** the eye test. BEATING mostly on tomato cans and a semi retired QUITTER ain't hat! Gary Russell = Judah. Super fast but over rated and a head case.Comment

That's like what's happened in most the big fights this year. On paper it looked like it would be a great year, but in the ring there have actually been very few good top level fights. IF Loma-Rigo happens and is a good fight, IF GGG-Canelo lives up to the hype, IF Wilder-Ortiz happens and Ortiz isn't totally shot and it's a good fight, then yes it could still be a special year. But so far it's only been special on paper... in the ring, it's still been disappointing overall. Plus, corruption is still rearing its ugly head way too often, and tainting the work these top athletes put in. It's a shame, and very unfair to them.Comment
