Canelo has never beaten anyone on the backfoot. GGG has.

Fight on the backfoot and we all know how that plays out against ggg.

De la hoya said to beat ggg you have to fight fire with fire. Canelo could not even fight fire with fire against a small ww in mayweather.
Backing up and fighting off the back foot aren't the same thing.

Actually, Trout was the aggressor, Canelo boxed... but Canelo barely won that fight (i scored it for Trout, but it could have gone either way.

In terms of boxing skills, its hard to say. Pretty close.

In terms of offense, I see GGG as much better than Canelo. Enough to overcome Canelo's boxing and win.

This could be alot like GGG v. Jacobs, with Canelo laying back & trying to counter GGG, but GGG being a bit more aggressive.

False. No way in hell is canelo gonna outbox ggg and try to out jab him from the outside. His only chance is to slip the jab and get on the inside and make it a dirty fight. He's not OUTBOXING GGG.

So you're saying GGG will win by outboxing Canelo?

Canelo is not that effective as an aggressive fighter. He only has success being aggressive against lesser fighters (Kirkland, Perro) or smaller fighters (Khan, Josesito, Smith was both lesser & smaller).

When matched tougher: Cotto, Lara, Trout, he boxes.

I think Canelo will let GGG bring the fight to him and try to counter... kind of like how Jacobs did.

So I see a similar type fight, but with GGG being more aggressive & successful. Canelo's not as rangy as Jacobs, so GGG can reach him more easily.

That's true, you can put your heels down and dig in inside/outside, coming and going. I think that what he needs to do changing the pace, using angles. If you stay in front of GGG you are a live target to be hit hard and often.

Canelo works off his backfoot OFTEN and he does is well so to say Canelo doesn't back up is WRONG!

In fact Canelo style is NOT your traditional "Mexican Style" just because he is "Mexican" Canelo is more of the Boxer/Puncher with some Countering Skills! Very good Hand Speed! Canelo is also good off the Ropes but vs GGG trapping himself against the Ropes will be Suicide!

Canelo will mix things up so if you're expecting two guys walking toward and throwing Bombs you will be disappointed. I will be more of a Chess Match than people think! GGG as well is more of a Boxer Puncher!

I expect a lot of MOVING from Canelo a long with firing off Combos with his Hand Speed. It is a strong possibility Canelo gets accused of Running by the Boxing Dummies but Laterally Movement is the best way to tame that GGG Power. In Fact he freeze up and doesn't throw as much when he has move laterally to try and cut the ring off.

But if he cuts the ring off and trap you and you just trying to cover up instead of either moving or clinch and turn him then he will do damage

Far more of a Chess/Boxing Match than people want to believe!

Most of Gs fights are chess matches, he's just been a great finisher. I don't get why people think he's a slugger. That's not what I see when I watch his fights.

He is a chess-master in the ring and when you make a wrong move you pay heavily for doing so. Canelo can match the physical but the mental edge goes to GGG. In the traditional l sense I don't think he's seen as a slugger, but a puncher/boxer. Canelo a boxer/puncher. GGG is like Sugar Ray Leonard in Marvelous Hagler's body and Canelo is like Hagler in Leonard's body for this match.
