Parker's pretty much 397th in line for a unification - what's he meant to do in the meantime, twiddle his thumbs? He's going to have to wait until Pulev and Wilder/Ortiz have had their turn.

Making money sure beats being inactive.

I wonder what happened to all the talk that happened about a unification between Wilder and Parker. I thought that was going to come to fruition. Not sure what happened with that between Arum, Duco, Parker, Wilder and Haymon. I know Stiverne got in the way, though he's accepting step aside money now apparently.

I know fighting Bellew is good for Parker's pockets, it won't make him a better Heavyweight though.

Eh, I guess if there's nothing else there. I would prefer to see Parker against more top 10 Heavyweights than Bellew, just to make him a better Heavyweight.

He's been looking lack luster in recent fights so I hope he can turn it around.

Because Arum doesn't want to risk losing the only heavyweight title he has access to for his ESPN deal.

I'm definitely with you there - a Parker-Bellew fight really does nothing for me. I wish, I truly wish, there was a path for Parker to get either Wilder or Joshua in the ring soon - anything short of that is probably going to be a disappointment. But sadly, there's just no reason to be confident - there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING on the horizon worth getting excited over, besides Wilder-Ortiz.

I get why Bellew is an attractive option - there's the money, and the continuation of building Parker's brand in the UK, which should maximize the returns from a Parker-Joshua unification. That makes sense for him and his camp, but I don't think it does much for the fans.

Short term...I'm fearful for the state of HW boxing. We desperately need Wilder-Ortiz-Parker-Joshua to find a way to fight each other in some combination. It simply has to happen.

I keep getting ticket ads on Facebook. I guess they're struggling to sell it. The Manchester Arena takes 21,000 at full capacity.

tbh I don't think casuals know that Tyson has a cousin fighting at heavyweight or who Parker is. This will flop hard.

Yeah, nothing has happened in the Heavyweight division since Joshua-Klitschko.

                  Hopefully we get Wilder-Ortiz.

If not then I'm sure next year some fights will happen..

They'll all fight each other soon, Joshua, Wilder, Parker.

Lol, I want to see Ward vs Bellew.

Have the Creed movie fight come to life.

But we'll see what transpires with everything at or near the Heavyweight division.

Parker's interest in Bellew makes me think he and/or his team lacks confidence in his skills after his performances against Takam, Ruiz and the last guy whose name escapes me (I think he was sparked on Boxcino tho). The few times I saw him fight I saw some lazy defense and not much power. He is athletic but I didn't see much else that impressed me for the championship level. Unless he has absolute granite for chin I think either Wilder or AJ kayo him. Ortiz might kayo him or lose a listless decision depending on which King Kong shows up...
