  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: GGG Will Do What Mayweather Couldn't, Dominate Canelo

Gennady Golovkin's detractors point to an unblemished record that, while loaded with impressive knockout victories, lacks elite-level conquests. Golovkin's trainer thinks that all will change when the long-reigning middleweight champion is able to "dominate" Canelo Alvarez in their middleweight title fight September 16 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 35-year-old Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) is slightly favored to defeat the 27-year-old Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) in their HBO Pay-Per-View main event, a 12-round fight that'll be contested for Golovkin's IBF, IBO and WBA 160-pound titles two weeks from Saturday night.

Wow...Floyd did dominate canelo, I mean really dominate, he even backed canelo up on a few occasions in the fight...the fact one of the judges viewed that fight as a draw baffles me even to this day...yeah I get hyping the fight but imo sometimes Abel just needs to shut up lol.

They completely wrote this out of context. He means GGG will stop him like Floyd couldn't. I'm sick of old Abe as much as the next man, but most of his quotes are taken out of context.

Oh, you mean like the comments of him saying he doesn't want his fighter fighting Jermall Charlo that Charlo doesn't deserve it or the time he said they will rematch Jacobs but now wants to go to 168? He sounds like he full of s**t. He knows better....

Funny how the writers dismiss Jacobs like he struggled to stay in the fight when really it could have went either way. Only thing Triple G can do that Floyd didn't is get the stoppage cuz floyd did dominant

The only way he can top Floyd's performance is to win all the rounds & knock him out. I don't see that happening.
