When a fight does over 1 million ppv buys it has caught the casual fans interest.

I'd say the casual boxing fans come in even sooner. Probably anything that does over 300k has casual boxing fan interest. Maybe 500kish. Anything that does 1Mish got sports fans interest. And anything beyond 1M & for sure 1.5M+ gets non-sports fans interest. And grandmas who never thought about boxing were talking about Mayweather & McGregor lol.

More or less thats how I think it goes cuz a lot of fights happen below 500k but they are with known guys. I mean Floyd's last fight did 450k previous to this one & I'm sure that reached the casuals eye, but its appeal was split with them cuz no one gave a f#ck about Berto.

I doubt it does that many buys, but it'll be a large number, on Monday at work, that's all everyone talked about was watching the fight and these aren't even casual boxing fans, just ended up buying it, business wise, they killed it.

why do people say it takes months and months to count up pay per view buys, ffs they're not counting up millions of bags of paper receipts here,

its all done electronically. every report imaginable could be downloaded and be available to view within a matter of a few days to a week, not bloody months.
