This isn't necessarily true IMO. If we were back in the days where streams did not exist, what makes you think some of these people wouldn't buy the fight? They streamed it cause the option is there. Yes, they could had gone out and watched it at a bar or something but some people like the comfort of their house and rather stay in.

For the same reason that if I can't find a song on YouTube, I don't go to Best Buy to purchase the CD.

There's a big gap between searching for a stream to an event people are talking about and committing $100 to it.

Would they have gotten a few extra thousand buys? I can buy that. But there's no chance it ventures into the 100K territory, let alone 1M. JMO.

Zero chance Dana knows for sure this soon, but I'm expecting the numbers to be huge. Everyone I know watched this fight in some way, shape or form. Mostly streaming, but some bought it outright.

yea...and one guy is usually the bigger draw. if it ends up doing more than the pac fight...I think it's safe to say McGregor is the bigger draw.

you're dead wrong about fans not paying to see one guy too. I'm not saying that was predominantly the case here...but there a many fans that buy a fighter's ppvs regardless of the opponent.

Back In the days before streams we had hacked satellite cards that opened all channels Including PPV'S and PPV events. The good old days.

Mayweather has elevated boxing to unbelievable levels for interest.
Dude Floyd was in the PPV era at its peak! Tyson killed it before him then came along Oscar then Floyd. There will always be someone better in time.

Well, the way I look at it is like this, 3+ mil is a HUGE number so 100k could be a possibility.

Dana White and the UFC never publicly released their PPV numbers.
                    So why would they now?

If there is someone who is not a legit source it for sure is Dana White.
