Not a fan of Mayweather. Never have been. And yes his fights are boring. But... Canelo didn't necessarily close the show against Cotto, didn't push for the KO. And he is not a pressure fighter. His fights are mostly interesting because his opponents bring it and get knocked out, like Khan, Kirkland, Smith...

I apologise to butt in my friend but he never said that...he said it's as bad as a KO which it is answer me this would you rather get KOed quick and wake up with a headache/concussion or get your face smashed to bits and go through surgeries and rehab etc? Oh and the fact he nearly lost his eye.

...he was also responding to the ridiculous claims that brook was hurting on Golovkin even though he stopped fighting back from round 4 and was a sitting duck from then onwards hence the towel getting thrown by his corner.

Lastly when you step up in competition your flaws are exposed it's not a secret its how boxings always been, two elite fighters fighting each other will expose each other's shortcomings.

I find it hard to find it interesting that Canelo knocks out Kirkland who was KO'd in a round off a feather fisted Japanese fighter, Khan who didn't even have a chin at 135 and Smith, who is the very definition of a domestic level fighter that happened to pick up a world title without fighting at world level.

Indeed. But but more surprising is that these are the names that are mentioned by Canelo fans to back up their claim that he has a better CV than GGG...

Brook only lost because of a broken orbital bone, Conor only lost because he gassed, Vitali only lost because of cuts.
It amazes me when people make statements like this without acknowledging that it was the other fighter that caused that **** to happen.

It's like saying canelo only beat Khan because Khan led down for ten seconds.

On the whole canelo unquestionably has a better CV than GGG, but I do think he's losing this fight.

                •TALE OF THE TAPE•

                CANELO:

                AGE- 27
                FIGHTS- 51
                ROUNDS- 353
                HEIGHT- 5'9"
                REACH- 70 1/2"

                GOLOVKIN:

                AGE- 35
                FIGHTS- 37
                ROUNDS- 172
                HEIGHT- (*)5'10 1/2"
                REACH- 70"

(*)Golovkin gives up his HEIGHT advantage , he crouches down to brace for the impact of incoming punches & to get maximum leverage on his punches, that will benefit CANELO in this fight.

SAUL CANELO ALVAREZ has an advantage in all categories, that's not even counting other very important attributes like Boxing IQ , defense, hand speed , competition etc.

Yeah but...How would he fare against Monroe, Lemieux, Jacobs, Brook?

In my opinion he'd beat monroe, lemieux and Brook not sure about Jacobs though.

I'm not making a case that canelos CV makes him the better fighter, just that he has the better CV, anyone can see that.
It's like the froch v calzaghe debate, froch has the better cv but I'd favour calzaghe head to head.
