Boxing is fine, UFC is fine too. It was an event and people are reading too much into it. And at the end of the day, 99.9% of people watching barely watch boxing at all, they don't care about the intricacies of the fight, all they really understand is that Floyd Mayweather stopped Conor McGregor.

The only people that will ruin boxing are fighters pricing themselves out of fights, promoters not working with each other and putting together crap fights and TV networks too willing to show fights nobody cares out.

Make good fights and boxing will be in be healthy state.

          Mayweather have damaged boxing forever.
Look at the number of one-fight-a-year fighters nowadays.
He himself admits fighters want too much money.

He didn't damage boxing. In a round where Mayweather threw about 1 punch a round, McGregor failed to dominate.

Go in the ring and see what would normally happen if you stood in front of your opponent without throwing a punch

What happened is what would happen if you stepped in the ring with a professional who was testing you.

Mayweather represented the sport very well. For the last 3 months the whole world was talking about boxing. This was one of if not the biggest sporting event this year. The only success McGregor had was when Mayweather was trying to figure out a way to neutralize his reach. Contrary to popular belief, the Canelo/Golovkin fight should get some of the residual buzz from this past weekend so that will be beneficial.

What if connor didnt tire and continued to punch floyd from the 4th round onwards? This isnt africa with 40degrees centigrade.

Cant you just accpet connor was better than we thought. Floyd already admitted that.

Floyd was solid; he did what he was supposed to do. But Conor would've been hurt bad by a better aggressor than Floyd, ****, I'm watching the Cotto-Kamegia fight, and Kamegai would've probably been more hell for Conor, and that's still a welterweight. A proper junior middle would've been brutal.

McGregor came over and fought "the best," but he didn't fight the best - both Conor and Floyd fought the "right guy" at the right time. I don't think this fight can honestly reflect a boxing vs mma scenario...besides this was a boxing fight, not a hybrid match.

Yeah, very sad. We can't brag anymore that an elite boxer can toy with any of MMAs finest if they step in the ring. That has been debunked. Well, at least Conor went down in the 10th, if Conor survived, boxing could have had a huge hit.

That said, a novice boxer has no business winning rounds and toying with an elite boxer. That's just not expected of someone who has honed his skills for years.

As I quote Stallone before the May Mac fight: "Conor stepping in the ring with Floyd is Murder!"

What I actually saw was Conor murdering Floyd's legacy lol
