  • Comments Thread For: Team Ortiz: Joshua Has Until 9/3 To Agree or Get Stripped!

Recent reports have suggested that top heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz has opted to face WBC champion Deontay Wilder and drop his status as the mandatory challenger to WBA/IBF/IBO champion Anthony Joshua. Kubrat Pulev is Joshua's IBF mandatory but Ortiz believes his WBA mandatory position has priority over Pulev's status. It also has been recently reported that he would need at least 3-4 months to prepare for Joshua.

Luvley Jubley Eddie Hearn wants to string this out for as long as he can and let Ortiz get Old . . He is still the Division Dangerman in my opinion

I want Wilder vs. Ortiz! WBA should strip AJ, which makes no difference because AJ will face the winner next anyway! I just don't want to see Wilder vs. Stiverne at all!

'' He said that Ortiz is interested in facing Wilder - but with the WBA belt wrapped around his waist.''

Aww man! these heavyweights always need certain conditions to fight tha Bombsquad, now Ortiz acting like hes the 'A' side! then Pulev be like Aww man! I need half a year ; then Joshua be like Aww man! I need to fight dees mandatories M8! see you 2018! - Maybe. Aww man! whoop! *dab*

These HW dudes need to figure sh^t out. Pulev don't wanna fight Klitschko without a 16 week training camp, Ortiz is supposedly fighting Wilder, but now saying Joshua need to figure sh^t out in 4(?) days. Bermane took a step aside, but now the guy who allegedly stepped aside for is calling out another title holder instead of Wilder. Joshua probably just sad he didn't get that historic Klitschko rematch for another big payday vs these dummies he's looking at fighting cuz of corrupt abc group mandatory's. And Wilder is probably just badly shadow boxing while wondering how he's gonna come up with a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.

Just when you thought HW was looking fun the bottlenecking is causing problems in the present that are wasting all our times cuz no one gives a f#ck about any of this sh^t we are looking like we might be seeing.

Someone needs to put all the mandatory's on a Richie Valens plane & then we can just setup Wilder vs Joshua cuz thats the only thing worth a f#ck at HW right now til Tyson Fury gets his sh^t together assuming he does.

Luis Ortiz and his people are idiots if they think the WBA is just going to hand him the title so he can go on to unify with Deontay! -- however wouldn't that be hela funny if Deontay the 'Bronze-Bomber' Wilder became the only unified champion of the world? who da 'A' side now beesh?! hehe.

Wilder has the entire division running scared, but the boys on NSB would have you believe it's been Wilder ducking these fools.

If Ortiz is confident in beating these guys anyway, then why does he need the WBA to give him the belt without fighting them? Just go beat them and win the belt in the fight.

With that said, the WBA needs to honor its rules. If they can strip Tyson Fury then they can strip Joshua. In any case, as long as Ortiz faces one of these guys by the end of the year, I'm happy as a fan in terms of the end of this year. It's too late to face both before the end of the year. Now, the rest of the year before this, Im not happy with, it's been a total waste for both Wilder and Ortiz. One decent, not amazing, matchup doesnt make up for that. Wilder could have had amazing matchups if he'd fought the Klitschkos, but instead he purposefully avoided both of them until they got old, so we're left to settle for this, an old Luis Ortiz who has looked like crap since the testing.

So really it's the least fans should expect at this point. Really, Wilder can't make up for his lost career no matter what he does, because you can't get all those years of wasted matchups back. I guess if he can beat Ortiz, then Joshua, then Parker and Fury, then he at least compensated for ducking the last era of heavyweights by dominating the new kids. But that's kind of the point, the last era was better, so he ducked it, and now he's going to fight unproven guys instead because he likes his odds better. It's still bull**** but IF he can beat them, then I'll give him credit for that.

Whichever way it goes, Ortiz is already old, so he needs to get one of these guys in the ring before the end of the year, belts or no belts.

No doubt about it. Ortiz doesn't want anything do with Wilder right now. This belt talk isn't that significant. He'll get good money to fight Wilder either way.
