Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor: Post-Event Report Card

The big question heading to the circus last weekend was would we be entertained? The answer was yes. When the circus is done right, it’s meant to entertain. Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor wasn’t much of a fight; there was never really any doubt about who was going to win. But it was fun and they put on a good show. For those who followed the build including watching the initial press conferences

C is probably generous considering he landed a fully wound uppercut almost flush and Floyd barely felt it.

I think people comment on sports without putting much effort into analyzing it. They think they just have to repeat the talking points.

McGregor hurt Floyd very badly to the body at the beginning of round 9 - how many fighters have hurt Floyd that badly? McGregor wasn't loading up on his shots either - he was trying to land more than hurt Floyd.

Thinking McGregor doesn't have power because he didn't knock down or KO Floyd is ******ed. You can say that about Canelo, Cotto, De La Hoya and Pacquiao don't have power either by that logic.

Not to mention, Floyd has one of the most underrated chins in boxing history. Give Floyd credit for having a Ray Robinson type chin and having the ability to recover from shots that do sting him. Conor's power is still a question mark but that body shot that hurt Floyd and that uppercut early lead me to believe he has better power than people think.

Did you see that body shot that Conor landed in round 9 that made Floyd hunch over? Guess that wasn't power...

Maidana and Pacquiao landed flush straights - and Floyd ate them too...

Oscar De La Hoya landed that left hook in the 12th round flush and Floyd didn't flinch...

Guess those guys don't have power either? Lol.

Floyd has a great chin - look at his career and stop repeating what you read on social media.

              That was a low blow.

Floyd actually defended properly and fought seriously against those other guys, and none of them outweighed him by 20 pounds. He never gave them the openings he gave the leprechaun. Also, a flush straight isn't the same as a fully wound uppercut.

McNugget should stick to dry-humping manlets in the octagon.

I like how that was low while hitting skin but Wards shots on Kovalev were somehow legal while hitting him on the logo in front of his d@ck.

You guys never cease to amaze me.

When did I ever claim Ward's shots were legal? You assume cause I support Floyd in this instance that I support every black fighter under every circumstance? The ****'s wrong with you?

He didn't have grades before the fight. See the pre-report card. How do you assess when he has never had a boxing match?

Whatever one thinks about it, we’ve arrived at the biggest boxing event of the year (Showtime PPV, 9 PM EST/6 PM PST). If you miss it, years of history says Showtime will replay the festivities in one week for the cost of a standard monthly subscription. It will be the biggest replay of the year by then. In boxing, biggest is a simple concept. The fight that makes the most money and has the most people watching is the biggest.
