i was at the thomas and mack last night and there was no crowd. walking into the arena you thought that the fight card was completely cancelled. if it wasn't for die hard fight fans and Darchinyan fans there would be no one there.
walking in they handed everyone a slip explaining the refund process. i didn't see anyone go to get a refund, but i know no one cared if there were fights at all it seemed.
upon going into to the arena basically you could sit where ever you wanted, they had no ushers enforcing where people were to sit. my buddy bought us cheap seats when the tix first went on sale for $50, we ended up sitting down on the floor 10 rows back. which those seats were probabaly being sold originally $400-$700, pending on the rows.
with all that being said, with that small of a crowd there, had castillo came down to apologise he more than likely would've been jumped and found himself being attacked by a mob, because people were pissed! i was joking around with some guys there that were all decked out in their mexican gear and had their flag with them. i was making a comment that castillo didn't want to risk getting beat up like he did in their first fight and that the only reason he won the second is because he cheated. they were cool with that, you know, they really couldn't defend him, and probably didn't want too either, but then i said he was representing mexico in the poorest way possible and they wanted blood. they wanted castillo's ass and it looked like they were wanting mine for even bringing up that fact.
so all in all i think it was a better move on castillo's part to not show up at least, he could've stayed in the back and did something, but had he gone he was looking at getting mobbed.
it probably would've looked like BHOP in Puerto Rico after the flag throwing, getting damn near tar and feathered......
long winded diatribe...........sorry if it's off topic a bit,peace y'all.
