Comments Thread For: Golovkin is Highly Motivated, Regains Interest in Boxing

2016 was a frustrating year for Gennady Golovkin, who in addition to not getting the marquee match-up that he yearned for, he also fought just two times that year. Instead of getting the likes of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (who delayed this match-up by vacating the WBC middleweight belt) or more meaningful middleweight bouts, he was relegated to facing Dominick Wade and Kell Brook.

Naw, not when he fought Brook. Ward vs. Kovalev was already scheduled. They're talking about 2016 was a frustrating year for him.

Maybe they should of offered Saunders what they said instead of what they did offer... HUGE difference between $1.5 and $5 million like they told everyone.

Every idiot Ward fan has to bring him up when there is a Golovkin post. Get over it. They never fought. And when the fight was proposed, Ward was not fighting at all except with his promotional company. And now Ward has painted himself into a corner because he won's fight Stevenson, he will lose to most of the Cruiserweights andf the heavyweights would end his career so what does he do? He will either sit on the belts for a year or he will fight Badou Jack, thats what. And we will see another boring, low blow performance from him again. So you idiots should just sit back and enjoy this fight while we can because the Canelo train will derail after this fight too hahahahaha.

Conor beat Floyd 4 of the 9 rounds going into the 10th and hurt Floyd in the 9th round to the body very, very badly... Floyd had to cry for the ref to help him...

Conor will have done better against Floyd than Canelo did against Floyd or GGG...

GGG will keep Canelo at the end of his jab and use his reach and distance to dominate the Ginger... this fight will be the real **** show...

Mid 30s with a few million in the bank, of course he lost the fire a bit, so have a ton of other fighters in that age group over the decade. Comfortable living makes it hard to go out and get punched in the face for a check.

168 is too dangerous. He's only got eyes for smaller guys. Fighters coming-up from below 160.

I was very disappointed when the fight GGG vs Brook was announced. He should fight Lara rather than Brook.

But I hope there was no choice other than Brook that moment, because negotiations were almost completed, Arena 02 was booked, and there was no time to start new negotiations with another promotion. There was very little time left until september 10. Otherwise he could lose his date like it was against Jacobs.
