Both fighters did this for obvious financial reasons. Floyd was missing a lot and got countered in the beginning of the fight. i dont know about getting his ass beat, he looked more tired than hurt if he didnt tire it would have gone the full 12 and no stoppage and the best fighter in the world would have gone the distance with a guy with zero boxing experience and people would have brought up that floyd was old and shot as an excuse

Floyd wasn't missing a lot. Landed 53% of his punches. Very accurate at the end, when he walked Conor down.

Conor did extremely well and better than most people thought he could. The debating here is pretty pathetic actually. There's a reason the fight was viewed as a mismatch from the moment it was signed , for a guy who never boxed professionally to learn the sport in a few months and go a hard 12 rounds is almost impossible. The surprising thing was how well Conor looked early and how uncomfortable Floyd looked. And Conor's biggest enemy was essentially his endurance it wasn't necessarily a skill gap even though there's a big skill gap. Floyd walking down a guy who is dead tired is not really an impressive feat at that point , the outcome was inevitable as soon as Conor looked visibly tired which was around the 5/6th round

I've said numerous times on here today that Floyd did NOT look good in there. He looked old and faded, but still put a beating on a 2 division champion combat athlete. Guy, don't let your Floyd hate make a fool of you.
