Now there's room to embellish the PPV record but a 100k here or there, but that's also hard to do when analytics/tracking can reveal a general range of sales. We'll see what's reported but "lieing" isn't that easy. We live in the information age buddy.
what do you mena live gate numbers are reported? they can be reported, doesn't mean the reports can't be falsified

a simple scroll down ticket prices from teh sellout in 2015 and the nowhere near sell out of now, shows you the disparity is not enough to trump the live gate of that fight

    simple mathematics

Live gate numbers and revenue are recorded and released to the public in Nevada.

Disparity? Mayweather-Pacquiao was 15k at MGM.

The number reported from last night was the people who entered the arena and not the total "sold". Resellers got caught holding the bag on a few thousand tickets. There are several articles about it.

We'll see what total revenue was soon. MGM Grand only holds 16.8k for boxing events. Just a thought.

Critical thinking isn't everybody's forte. The hate/bias blinds them from objective analysis lol

Mayweather-Pacquiao sold 16,219 tickets for a gate revenue of $72,198,500. Avg. ticket price = $4451.48

If 14,623 is the sold ticket amount for Mayweather-McGregor, they would need to average $4937.32 per ticket to equal the record.
What's interesting about that Mayweather Pacquiao number is that it's not event capacity for a boxing event at a boxing match. Unless there were a lot of comp tickets.

But to your point, there's reason to believe resellers got caught holding a few thousands tickets. We'll see.

It's all about gate not how many tickets were sold. Let's see what the final gate number is but all reports saying it's a record and that's a win.

The next question is how many ppvs they sold but there is major drama even with that. Servers crashed for example the entire UFC.tv that streamed the fight crashed at 9pm when the ppv started. And remained largely down even for the main event. There are going to be lawsuits if the UFC don't issue mass refunds. Check out Dana white's twitter literally thousands cursing him out saying they robbed them for 100 bucks and threatening to sue. Cable providers sold ppvs they couldn't deliver as well. So the next question might not be how many ppvs were sold but how much money they made after they are done resolving and refunding the millions who are complaining Sunday morning.
