As the 'boos' and 'jeers' rain down from the crowd... the prevailing thought (if that happens) will be:
"Floyd, you're the Pro Boxer, you're TBE, why are you running from this guy?! Beat this dude!"

McGregor likes being the counter-striker too. Why would he be expected to chase Floyd around?

People making this standard that Floyd HAS to KO McGregor is so dumb. SHOULD he KO McGregor? Yes. He should, easily. Does he HAVE to? No. He doesn't.

If McGregor wants to be great, HE HAS to chase Floyd around. Who cares how much he's getting paid to do this and that he's a novice. He's still gonna lose if he just stands there and he'll be the boring one.

Floyd is already known for running. He's coming out of RETIREMENT with a year+ layoff to give McGregor HIS big break. McGregor better put on a show because he's the one being given a chance here.

You're trying to make up some case where Floyd actually cares that people are booing him.

Conor is the 0-0 nobody in this equation.
He's supposed to gets schooled, toyed with, crushed (if not KO'ed)...
So he'll take the center of ring and wait for his beating.

If Conor wants to be great...???
If Conor wants to have a chance against Floyd...

Then he WON'T play into Floyd's game, he WON'T chase. He certainly won't charge-in at him recklessly, like a lot of Boxing aficionados assume he will (cuz he's just some "caveman" MMA fighter with no Boxing skills, right?).

        Conor will surprise.

(at least for some portion of the early rounds, I think)

        • Two things to look out for - McGregor having a "moment" early. Even if he lands 1 punch clean punch like Mosley did people are going to go crazy and people on here will be like "See, Mayweather got hit, he almost lost". The big problems for him is he's never faced anyone so hard to hit and he won't have anywhere near the stamina to keep up. So i'm expecting Floyd to stop him in the late rounds for sure.

            • Mcgregor will try to come out strong from the start and try to challenge Floyd. Floyd will fight at his pace and slowly and effortlessly win the first couple rounds on easy points.

After the 1st or 2nd round Mcgregor will start to realize he can't hit Floyd and he'll start to feel a little pain from some sharp shots.

By the time the 3rd round is over if Mcgregor is still in the fight, he'll lose the mental battle and begin to accept his defeat.

Once Mcgregor realizes what he's up against and he realizes he's ****ed, he will become Mayweather's play thing.

It'll all be on Floyd to make something happen.

At one point or another, if Floyd is only looking to counter, Conor will decided to just stand in the center of the ring with his arms at his side just staring down Floyd.

                  What's Floyd gonna do then?
Floyd will lead with his fast jab to the body, feint jabs to the body and throw quick tapping jab to head. When an opening occurs quick straight right then stutter-step or circle roll out to his left. The way he throws these jabs from the crouch and the speed there's no way McG can counter from southpaw stance without leaning in with his right and his left is too far away to get there fast enough. This is just patented Mayweather. Due to his lack of experience I think that McG will lean in and/or overreach his punches, this may cause the uppercut from Mayweather to be a big punch in the event.

Another inexperience problem for McG is footwork, he has to keep his right foot outside Mayweathers left foot. He's never had to worry about this in MMA because he could use his feet as weapons. Mayweathers footwork is one of his biggest advantages and the fact that he has hundreds of thousands of hours developing his footwork gives him a decisive advantage. He can easily keep McG's feet out of position.

                  • You guys make me laugh so much.

If Floyd wants to dance around, not get hit, tap Mcgregor and win every round with light scoring punches he's gonna do that and dance all the way to the bank.

It's Floyd's choice about what he wants to do, he's 40 years old, coming out of retirement, and he gets all this guaranteed money no matter what.

Floyd's gonna take as little punishment as possible and walk away with everyone's money laughing as he does it.
