I am a floyd fan but hatton is nothing like conor... Conor is a light heavyweight southpaw who is a lefty counter puncher with a longer reach... Hatton was tiny and the total opposite of mcgregor...

Joe Cortez's constant interference forced Hatton into a more reckless fight than he wanted, not Mayweather. FMJ took advantage. Connor will be aggressive but his style is nothing like Hatton.

There are a lot of differences between Hatton and McGregor, but I think the general argument - that Mayweather will use McGregor's aggression against him - is very plausible.

I think McGregor is essentially banking on being a more aggressive Canelo Alvarez. Canelo was a lot bigger than Mayweather on fight night and a lot of people around here were proclaiming that Canelo was going to knock out Mayweather in the same fashion Floyd haters are predicting McGregor will knock him out. It's the tired "he's too big and too strong" argument that supposes Floyd doesn't have enough return fire to keep bigger, stronger opponents honest.

In addition to his size, McGregor is also similar to Canelo in that his stamina is questionable. But it gets worse. McGregor obviously has nowhere near the boxing skill of Canelo and his defense is dubious.

Both Diaz fights showed that McGregor can be hit, and with punches that weren't delivered anywhere near as well as even B-class boxers throw. Heck, some of the Diaz punches that seemed to hurt McGregor were more like roundabout slaps. In the first Diaz fight, McGregor was on the brink of being knocked out and basically decided, whether consciously or instinctively, to quit on the floor. He had nowhere to go and no answers.

I think McGregor has the same puncher's chance virtually every fighter who steps into the ring has, and that lottery ticket will expire after a round or two. Once Floyd starts hitting him, even if McGregor doesn't gas, he's not going to have the boxing instincts and experience to make adjustments. He'll either have to try to survive or continue to take risks that will create openings for Floyd to end the fight.

He thinks Conor can box or something. Conor has never been in a ring more than 15 minutes, and all that ground stuff is slacking as far as boxing is concerned. Floyd can take him deep, but I don't know why he would. Floyd is stealing this money, 50-0. PT Barnum would envy him.

I think Mayweather will start out slow, just probing him with jabs, left hooks, and check left hooks. Once he get's a feel for his style around round 3 or 4 he'll go to him. He's also gonna work the body a lot. Nail him with a lot of straight right hands.
