Same advice for the Ukrainian as Charlo, needs to keep fighting while waiting for Golovkin-Canelo. In fact that would be a good fight to make, I'd take Charlo to win but fight would go distance.Comment

Well, I was 0-2 in the fighters I was pulling for (Johnson and Aleem), so it goes. Derevyanchenko looked solid and battered Reno for 10+ rounds. I kept waiting for Derevyanchenko to start to gas but it didn't really happen. Reno is tough as nails to go through that punishment, I really felt bad for him after getting stopped in the final round. Derevyanchenko is skilled and tough, I wonder if his power is elite or if it was Johnson's will that kept him from falling from all of those clean punches landed. I have the feeling that a skilled boxer could outpoint Derevyanchenko. Would love to see him in there against GGG, Canelo or Danny Jacobs.Comment

Lemieux-Dereyvanchenko does not interest me as much as it should. You can say it will be a great action fight but one of them might get starched after 2 rounds. It sounds like Lemieux-Stevens 2.0 to me. Solid fight, but I think either of them against Jermall Charlo is more intriguing. Lemieux-Dereyvanchenko is just an action fight, whereas either vs Charlo is not only an action fight, but Charlo's first test at 160, and a better style clash, given Charlo's length and speed.
This is how 160 should end the year:
Jacobs-Saunders
Lemieux-Cotto

Except on second thought, Derevyanchenko shouldn't end the year in the ring against anyone. He should fight in April at the earliest IMO, which means he starts training in only six months Feburary, which means he better not do any sparring the first 5 weeks of training either. After a fight like that he should give his brain a six month rest if not 9-12 months (Just guessing Im no doctor).Comment

Poor Johnson should take about 9 or 10 months off to fully recover, he took a horrific beating in there.Comment

Defending a point
I am sorry; but, I agree with Boxing Logic here. Derevyanchenko have to take minimum, 6 month of rest to recover his brain and punch resistance and fight a 2nd tier fighter or stay busy fight, then fight the the winner of Canelo/Golovkin. If Derevyanchenko fight Lemieux, Jacobs, Jermall Charlo and Golovkin/Canelo, they are going to TKO/KO him easily, because of lower punch resistance after coming of a war with Tureano Johnson. I agree with Freedom2111 about Johnson having a rest of 9 or 10 months after that TKO.Comment
