the WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION is supposed to fight at 135, not 139, 140, 150, etc.

Corrales is a proud champion, who will defend his title vs. another 135lb'er

not some criminal who is trying to cheat the system and harm another man's life, if JLC can't make 135, FINE, go up to 140 and get humiliated by Cotto, Hatton, etc....OR BETTER YET, go up to 160 and get crucified by Taylor or Wright

you argue that it was just a show. to at least get some of the public back on his side.

I think he came to fight though, he just couldnt make weight.

As for being banned from the sport for life, i dont think so. Even if they did do this on purpose, it should just include a fine and a possible suspension.

It's not Corrales fault when the limit is 135 (especially for a 2 time), so corrales has every right to be mad. Castillo should've just moved up if he knew he could no longer make 135.

according to what i read, castillo could be facing as much as a $250,000 fine and a suspension by the nevada boxing commission.

corrales lost a 1.2 million dollar purse because of castillo and will likely sue.

bob arum estimates 1 million in losses.

gary shaw's losses were in the hundreds of thousands.

so, something has to be done about this. sounds like everybody got screwed - big time. plus, showtime had penalties written in the contratc if castillo couldn't make weight. knowing that, did castillo even read the f'ing contract?
