Floyd will be a lot richer for taking a dive, conor gets knocked out cold in his next fight that Floyd likely gets a percentage of. Mayweather then fully retires as the first and last billionaire professional boxer.

I think if Floyd TRULY cared about the sport that made him rich, instead of just the cash...he would have either turned down McGregor's bait...or had the "decency" and integrity to train seriously. Like a champion. So he could do boxing proud by showing an arrogant, low-life upstart that he grossly underestimated the skill, stamina, heart and intelligence that make the sport great. Instead, Floyd's lackadaisical attitude, juvenile antics and circus training camp may ultimately result in that against-all-odds whooping that I genuinely hope does not come to pass. Idk that it really does. Floyd is ultimately a 40 year old man who's not for 2 years. More people will accept this wasn't The Floyd Mayweather we all know if he were to lose.

Idk that it really does. I think Conor's career trajectory might change to being more on the boxing side than the MMA side.

Absolutely, but I think thats already in play & I believe I & others have said this whats happening now was gonna happen with a high profile MMA guy crossing over to boxing & a high profile boxer will crossover to MMA when the money makes sense to do so (& I mean a Joshua or Loma type guy not a old boxer like Toney or Mercer).

LOL no. Boxing is its own martial art. Just like many of the fighting styles used in MMA already.

No. If Conor beats Floyd he's gonna be a boxer from that point on more or less or the UFC is gonna have to put itself at risk paying Conor what boxing can pay him. Because of how each business works the money is gonna be better in boxing unless the reach of MMA outreaches boxing by a lot.

There's some cats who say the promoter to boxer payout in boxing is 20/80 & its the opposite 80/20 in MMA so you do the math at how big MMA needs to get for the fighters to make as much money in MMA as they could in boxing for those who can cross over & for how much a boxer would need to make to cross over to MMA.

If Floyd didn't take this fight someone else would have. It mighta been a year from now, but it was always going to happen & it'll happen again...although its unlikely to be on this scale, but I wouldn't be surprised if the top 10 combat sports PPV in 10 years has more than Conor vs Floyd on it from the standpoint of "MMA vs Boxing" contests.

The legacy Mayweather has created for himself is everything to him. He would not risk tarnishing that. The one thing Mayweather cares about more than money is what gave and continues to give him that money - his image as one of the best to ever lace em up and undefeated within the sport he helped shape for our era.

I don't really like the guy, but damn, pay the man some respect, he's not gonna allow himself to get blown out by a 0-0 MMA fighter in any circumstance.

I think they'll be riots. Accusations of fight fixing and bet rigging. Boxing clubs going through a stage of kids not joining, MMA getting a massive boost. I think it would almost be good, a victory for the visionaries and a blow to the experts. That's if it wasn't for the fact that some Conor fans are even more annoying than Floyds bumlickers. Still, at least we'll know that we're living in an alien simulation.
