Broner actually got in the spotlight. Boone got beat by a bunch of guys as they were coming up. Dropping guys while they were unknown doesn't really mean much compared to headlining televised fight cards.
What? His longest winning streak was 4 fights and then he went on to draw with Canadian journeyman Smichet and lose to a guy from the contender who did nothing. If he didn't stop Stevenson you wouldn't even know who he was. HE'S NEVER EVEN FOUGHT A 12 ROUND FIGHT.
Probably should add that Broner is/was, a success. Very few boxers ever make it to that level. Remember, it's a job, not a game. He got to "that level". Just because a handful of guys from his era are doing better doesn't mean he failed. He probably could have gone even farther but Boone is no where in his league as far as success goes.
