Criticism of a boxer's resume is justified only if he ducked anyone, but Rocky fought everyone available at the time. Even the great Ali said he didn't know who would win between himself and Rocky, and no, he wasn't being kind.

And for anyone claiming the mob influenced his fights, perhaps, but only so far as getting him a title shot, not the actual result - he absorbed awful punishment in some of his fights.

Entirely different era, but more importantly, I'd bet you're clueless on the reality of Marciano, who he fought, the hassles he had with managers, etc etc. Floydie had a red carpet laid out for him almost from the start, and yes he fought his share of bums and gatekeepers too. Then later, fought a tiny JMM and outweighed him on fight night by 15-25 lbs... waited out Pac til he was a few steps below prime... sucker punched Ortiz... had Cortez in his pocket for Hatton... juiced for a bunch of fights... whined til Maidana had to wear pillows for gloves... geez the list is endless. Point being, I'll take a grizzled 50s legend over a pampered diva any day. And yes, this match should be just an exhibition. AND it cheapens the sport to make it anything besides an exhibition.

You can bet true fans will never recognize Floydie's b.s. record.
