Comments Thread For: Crawford-Indongo Fight Averaged 965,000 Viewers on ESPN

The average viewership for Terence Crawford's spectacular ESPN debut was about the same as the audience Crawford drew for his previous fight on HBO. According to ratings released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research, an average of 965,000 viewers tuned in to watch Crawford demolish previously unbeaten Julius Indongo in a rare full title unification fight from Lincoln, Nebraska. Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs) knocked out Indongo (22-1, 11 KOs) in the third round after landing a perfect, paralyzing left hand to Indongo's body that left the Namibian southpaw flat on his back, unable to get up at a Crawford-crazed Pinnacle Bank Arena.

It clearly shows that boxing is just a fringe sport in the US.

A little over a million for the main event peak. Meh, solid but not spectacular..

I bet Loma vs Rigondeaux will have 1 Mio views. Ukrainian community will watch on TV and will pack MSG Theater.

Beating a guy with 10 fights, while a HOF football lame mishap messes with the viewings, and who's also not even American/Mexican is really nothing to be proud of.

These numbers suck and I want them to be better.

Ward and rigo have worse numbers then any boxer considered for that list but no one says anything about that.
