It would be a terrible blow to boxing if Conor won.

99.9% of the millions of people following this fight around the world would not take into account the fact that Conor is bigger and Floyd is a 41 yo dragged out of retirement.

All they would take from it is that an MMA fighter beat the world's No1 boxer in a boxing match and that therefore MMA > boxing.

You can't make a claim like that when he's never boxed.

Whatever you want to believe, boxers are the most fearsome punchers on the planet. It's all they do.

To have a few impressive KO's in UFC where defense is non-existent, the gloves are tiny, and the skill level is nowhere near that of professional boxing, does not automatically make him a KO machine in this sport.

I'm willing to bet most of Floyd's opponents from 147+ hit significantly harder than Conor, through correct technique, experience, training, timing, etc etc.

And let's be honest if he hit that hard, his clean left on Paulie would have had more of an effect. As it was, it barely made him step back.

I watch the replay of McGregor this morning from Madison Square Garden in 2017 versus Alvarez fighting at 1:55 Floyd better be ready awkward as he is throwing punches it very wide angles if this guy connects once with Floyd, Floyd's gone... he best not take McGregor lightly...

Oh geez, who cares. There's hundreds of thousands of amateur boxers out there involved in boxing at all levels, some much, much higher up the totem pole than good ol' Conor here was. Doesn't mean they're ready for Mayweather.

People have really bought into the Conor Hype full bore. This won't even be competitive..

lol yall giving conor wayyy too much credit for his power.

this almost remind me of the build up leading up to the danny garcia vs lucas fight. some of yall was saying danny is leaving in a stretcher, etc. LOL.

That Paulie footage was a joke. Paulie was on his FRONT FOOT in the shoulder roll stance. No one does that and gets away with that other than Floyd. It's not at all surprising Paulie took a left-hand bomb in that instance. And it didn't really faze that bad really. Give the legend of Conor's power he should have been laid out hard..

Exactly. That's pretty much a perfect straight left with plenty of snap, hit him flush, and he didn't budge.

Spot on, this is what the McGregor/UFC fanboys and the casuals cannot understand, there'll still be a massive shock amongst the media if mayweather stops/KOs him, even though to us it's not at all lol.
