In terms of pure boxing skill, Rigo and Loma are up there with the best in boxing history. It will be awesome seeing them pitting their skills and wits against each other. But unfortunately, I think the outcome will be decided by size, not skills.

There's been some discussion as to whether the Canelo-GGG winner will take the P4P #1 spot from Ward. And personally, unless the winner wins by complete destruction, I don't think whomever the winner is will overtake Ward. At least not on my list.

But in the case of Lomachencko-Rigondeaux, I think the winner has a solid chance of becoming the new P4P #1. P4P is extremely subjective. But the best lists are usually a combination of the eye test and accomplishments. And IMO in the eye test category, Lomachencko and Rigondeaux are already the P4P #1 and #2. But Ward is close enough to both, and obviously is more accomplished as a pro. But both Lomachencko and Rigondeaux have excellent resumes, especially for as few fights both have as pros. And IMO the winner has a legitimate shot of overtaking Ward.

The size difference has to be taken into account. Since Rigondeaux is moving up two divisions, obviously he would be given more credit for beating Lomachencko than visa versa. But it would still be a great win for Lomachencko.

I didn't think it would take long for all the Rigo excuse makers to start crying about size difference, age difference, weight advantages. First they say Loma is ducking him, now they are crying about excuses. Lining them up because they know Rigo is in over his head. Just stop. Rigo didn't want the fight when Loma was at 126, now he sees that he cannot command a big money fight with his own name and it's desperation time. Suck it up fanboys.

It would be great if they would fight @ 126, but I don't care what weight they fight at, so long as they fight! If Arum wants Loma to be a star, he can't afford to have Loma fighting the Sosa and Marriagas of the sport! Rigo now, Mikey next! Let's Go!

If anyone expects that, they will feel let down when they see Loma dominate to the point where it turns to anger and 'if Rigo was at his peak, and it was at a 'fair' weight, that wouldn't have happened'.

That's why I think the fight is pointless (as is Salido). Pretty much the only reason Arum will agree to it too, it will make his boy look good having a stoppage of Rigo on his resume.

Would much prefer to see Loma go for Garcia at 135.
Loma vs Garcia at 135 will happen next year ! The Rigondeaux bout is there to raise Loma´s popularity and to make the Garcia fight even bigger.

If you can't admit that the age difference and weight difference are significant factors in this fight, then I don't know what to tell you. I'm still rolling with rigo, but Loma get alot less credit for the fight being at 130.

Not gonna happen. Arum and Rigo will never do business again, and I wouldn't blame Rigo at all for telling Arum to go fuŠk himself.

I'm a big fan of both fighters. It is unfortunate that Rigondeaux will need to come up 8lbs to chase a fight. Really wish it was for 126lbs but oh well. Fingers crossed the fight is made. WAR RIGONDEAUX! WAR LOMACHENKO!

Rigo could have had the fight at 126 but didn't want it. He hijacked his own career, so no one to blame but himself. But it's not as though he is an old 37. He hasn't been in any fierce battles that wear a fighter down over time and take away years from life span of a fighter's career.

If Loma moved to 135 to fight Mikey, all the Rigo fans say he is ducking Rigo, now that he is trying to make the fight at 130 with Rigo (Rigo called for this fight at this weight), he is accused to ducking Mikey and taking advantage of poor little Rigo. You can't have this both ways. For years you Rigo fans are talking shyt about how he would dice up Loma. Now that it's happening I see the excuses spilling out. It just got real.
