Comments Thread For: Berto: If McGregor Beats Mayweather - It's a Big Blow To Boxing

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto believes if UFC superstar Conor McGregor pulls off the upset over Floyd Mayweather - the sport of boxing would suffer a big blow. This coming Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, McGregor will make his professional boxing debut against Mayweather, who is 40 years old and coming back to the ring after two years in retirement.

Genious thinking if the biggest upset in boxing history happened it would ruin Floyds legacy and be a big blow to boxing . Who would have thought that. Amazing perspective

If Conor miraculously manages to beat Floyd, it's a blow to boxing expert's egos, but not as much for the sport. It will make Mayweather (and the experts) look bad, but it will be a boon for the sport to have successfully stolen the world's most popular 'fighter', right from the UFC's pathetic clutches. Even though most of them will be fools, more people than ever will be paying attention to boxing. Fortunately for us, Conor will lose badly, and boxing will go back to being forgotten, and not even mentioned in the sports section of most news papers.

I don't think so. Floyd is old, it would only promote McGregor into a superstar greater than what he is. He would be bigger that Mayweather. He would defiantly be bouncing back and forth from UFC to Boxing, and it would set up a Match against Winner of GGG vs Canelo or even Cotto for a last fight.

You do realize Douglas was a contender and still 44-1 underdog and it is considered biggest upset ever in boxing so what should the odds be?

They make the odds on not only who they think will win the main part is having odds that will give you as close as possible equal $ bets on each guy

Why do you ask so they keep what is called the vig to make it easier to understand say it costs $1.10 to bet a $1. If they have millions on each side the same exact number the casino makes the millions x .10 with zero risk who wins or loses
