It's a frivolous "record" anyway. Fighters such as some of the ones mentioned have gone past 50-0 before losing, and the fact that they lost at a later date doesn't take away from that fact. If 50-0 has any significance at all, it's because 50 is just a much more round/iconic number than 49, despite being only being one win more.

"Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez owns the overall modern-day boxing record for the most wins without a loss. Chavez was 89-0-1 when he lost for the first time as a pro – a split decision to Frankie Randall in January 1994."

          Haha.

Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez owns the overall modern-day boxing record for the most wins without a loss. Chavez was 87-0 when he lost for the first time as a pro – a split decision to Pernell Whitaker in August 1993.

Rocky Marciano was a short stumpy 180lb heavy who fought old men

Biggest hype job in boxing history was the career of spaghetti bending Olive oil breath short armed 6 inch jab Rocky Marciano.
Marciano beat old Joe Louis and Ezzard Charles a light heavy and Jersey Joe Walcott who was 70 yrs old and older Archie Moore another old man. Marciano was a white that is why the Rock is revered and respected. Few Italians are worth remembering. Marciano couldn't beat Hughie Fury or Bryant Jennings. Look up Rocky's 49-0 record without laughing.
