Ok, Castillo should of made weight I understand that, but how come no one says anything about a fighter Ballooning after they weigh in. If both fighters would of weighed iin at 135, no one say anything about how much they weigh in on fight night. Yeah Castillo should of made weight, but hey these fighters would of ballooned up anyway.

Why is everyone saying the guy cheated? He simply could not make the weight and had no business making the fight at 135. Corrales refused to have the fight at 140, he wanted the fight at 135...they said it in interviews on this site right after the second fight. Corrales wanted the fight at 135 because he knew damn well Castillo would kill himself to get down there and he would have the advantage. At the same time Castillo knew he would by far be the stronger man at 140 and thats why he wanted the bout at 140. They should have had a catch weight. Corrales will look bad if he faces Hatton next...AT 140. Hatton was at the weigh-in to scout, he wants the winner and Corrales is likely. Hatton is stronger than Castillo and if he takes a chance on Hatton, I dont see why there could not be a catch weight in the first place. Shaw said after the second bout, 135 pounds or nothing. Castillo was never going to make 135, he should have never signed the contract.

ok, ill follow you for minute here. so castillo knew this, knew that and so on, that he's the stronger man at 140 and he knows corrales wanted the opposite. but why the **** did he sign the contract??? and how could he not possibly know he's over by 5lbs, a day before or a week before??? if he knew the odds against him making weight is huge, why sign it and waste everybody's time and money?

i say that's TOTAL DISRESPECT for the sport and the fans, to do it TWICE! and cheating is the same, a total disrespect for the sport, it's just a different way to get there. was he hoping again team corrales would go on with the fight at a catchweight? it's really unacceptable. in a company, an analogous situation to this could lose him his job immediately.

Thats because in 24hours you can't gain muscle you can only rehydrate. So if two guys weight at fight night 160lbs and if fighter A 24 hours before had drained and cut down to 147lbs and the fighter B never lost the weight and was always at 160, then fighter B would be stronger even if they both weight in at the same weight.

if the body doesn't allow you to drop weight, then who do you sue and why? .....when a fighter tried his best to lose weight but his body wouldn't allow it

why is corrales going to sue castillo..... cause corrales didn't get paid?.... well it was corrales decicion to not fight..... so if corrales didn't get a paycheck he has himself to blame.... corrales would have gotten a nice chunk of castillos purse and win or lose his career still would have been on track to challenge the fighers at the higher weight class's. lets remember, in a year or two the light welterweight division is going to be wide open as we expect everybody to move up to welterweight.

I'd like to think more then us hardcore boxing fans are aware of this fight and really excited about this fight... but reallty is probably only us hardcore boxing fans and regular boxing fans are really excited about this fight, of course a share of newbie fans of boxing are probably aware of this fight, but this fight ain't mainstream -meaning its in the daily newspapers..... the regular joe may be thinking "oh, another overhyped fight" unawhare if thier classic fights...... im saying this cause us true boxing fans are going to be the huge percentage of views and what happend us the fans are aware that this type of **** happpens and this has happened in the past so we will forgive and forget and if the vic fight turns out to be a really good fight...all is forgotten for now.


but I understand why many people were very eager to view this fight, i was one of them, but to say they would leave the sport or that this hurts the sport, i don't think it does, did the tyson inccident hurt boxing? no


we are in a sweat time to be a boxing fan, everybody is fighting everbody.....larios a jr. featherweight is challenging pacquiao at jr. lightweight.....hatton a jr. welterweight challenged collazo at welterweight.....mosley a welterweight....what im trying to say is if everybody has no problem in moving up in weight and challenge bigger fighters....then more then anything as a fan i should be mad at corrales for not stepping up and fighting castillo.......corrlars has examples of where the smaller fighter fought the bigger fighter and won, as is the instance of mosley defeating vargas and soon.. larios defeating pacquiao

this is nothing new in boxing, and as many have said before, any press is good press, and **** happens, what better pay-back then to curse castillo and then still challenge him.....I see no loser here and they will go on to bigger and better things and at the end we may see these guys fighting each other again

This ludicrous statement proved that your bias has no bounds. This is 100% castillo's fault. He signed the fight at 135, and failed. He is in the wrong, and no stories about Ali or anyone else will change that. When a megafight doesnt occur because one fighter shows no discipline and doesnt make weight, it is bad for the sport. Its simple.
