It was rumored he was going to fight Jessie Vargas. I seen a video the other day with Jessie in it saying he has an October date with a big name for all the fans. If I were a betting man Id bet we get Vargas vs. Mattysse in October on ESPN.

I dont like that matchup for lucas, Jessie might actually win that...dudes massive and got a legit chin.

Hopefully not though really wanna see thurman,spence or horn/pac agaisnt lucas before he retires

I am a Vargas fan so I like this fight but I know what you mean. Jessie is like 5'11" and after seeing Mattysse struggle with Postols height, this could be bad news for him. I do like Mattysse though and I would like to see him get a title shot of some sort. A rematch with Peterson would be cool. I just cant see Mattysse dealing well with anyone else. 5'6" is small in this day and age for anything above 140lbs. Hell theres a guy at 135lbs thats 5'10"

And sh^t even if they did I expect them to bend to put Crawford in that belt post-Indongo which is what I believe the TR plan is.

Randomly I wouldn't hate seeing Crawford vs Matthysse for a mandatory title shot.

that's not happening, at least not this year. lucas comeback for some reason will be in argentina. i don't know why and none of those names will come down here to fight lucas. expect him to fight a very ****ty opponent. arano sucks, lucas career has been poorly managed.

He was never going to be on the undercard because they were waiting on a title shot for the WBO belt against Pacquiao in the fall. They like everyone else figured he would beat horn and if he did then WBO was going to make Matthyssee his mandatory next or vacate. Problem is he got upset and has a rematch first but the winner will have to fight Lucas.

How did Mathysse end up so high in the rankings after 1 fight at WW. I would understand if he was a champ at the weight below. And yet people complain when its a PBC fighter who gets ranked high and gets titles shots. WBO is the weakest champion in the WW division at the moment. If Crawford wins and moves up to WW he will end up getting a title shot before Mathysse due to the fact the Crawford was WBO champ in the lower division, plus the WBO at WW is the Top Rank title

Yeah the Manny loss really threw a monkey wrench and more so if Crawford beats Indongo and Arum moves him to 147 then Horn is a easy belt for him to scoop up. If Manny wins I can see him vacating/retiring rather then fight Crawford. I think Arum would of made the Matthsyee fight later this year with Pacquaio hell they were planning on making that fight before Lucas got beat by Postol. But losing to Horn puts Mattysee title shot in limbo. Worst case scenario for Lucas is Crawford wins this weekend and if Horn wins the rematch or Pacquaio pulls out negotiations. Lucas will have to wait a long time for his mandatory shot.
