His size is one of the only advantages he's got, he's going to make the most of it.
He's training for a fight with Floyd at 154, and will have 24 hours to gain weight, if he can't hit 170lb from 2 weeks of eating until he can't eat anymore how do you suppose he is going to do it in 24 hours? He will weigh in at 154 and be low 160's at the most. Again this all ties up perfectly with what his representative at the commission has said and also his nutritionist. he already been at 160 for most of his camp, that's fed and hydrated. and hes still cutting weight. He's not going to be close to 170lbs.

The claim that Floyd are Connor are only slightly different in size shows absolute bias and delusion. These 2 are at least 2 weight classes apart in natural size, Conor looked like a corpse when he used to make 145 and Floyd was making 130 lbs in his mid 20s without too many problems. You saw at the press conference (the first one) that Conor is at least 2 inches taller with a much wider Frame and longer arms. Conor should naturally fight at 154-160 and Floyd should fight at 135-140, that's a big difference in size.

Conor will be at least 169 170 lbs on fight night, no doubt in my mind.

A long time has passed since then and Mcgregor looked a lot more muscular at the presser than he did for the Diaz weigh-ins. He's added muscle.

You say how's he going to do it? The same way he did it for his 145 fights. The same way Canelo did for his 154 fights. McGregor will be 170+ in the ring.

Loyalty goes out the window for some people when money gets involved.
I'd find it hard to believe that Paulie hasn't spoken to Floyd or someone in Floyd's team regarding McGregor, especially if he thinks he's been exploited by Conor.

He is a showtime employee, a fighter that was with Haymon and he and Floyd get along well, there's even a video of them on the phone after the Manny fight.

McGregor could weigh anywhere from 140 to 180, he gets his ass kicked either way.

I don't think you understand how weight cutting works.

Where do you suppose this extra 16lbs is coming from considering he has been 160lbs for the majority of his camp?

The man is already 160lbs and it still coming down in weight by his own admission from yesterdays conference call. Lets even just say he does a water cut straight from 160 He only needs to drop 6lbs to reach 154, he can do that by cutting 2.6 liters or half a gallon of water. That's a small water weight cut and he can re hydrate after the weigh in by drinking the same amount and he will be back to 160lbs

Please tell me where this further 10lbs+ is coming from that he will be adding considering hes now fully hydrated again do you realize how much food he would have to eat to gain further 10lbs? I can assure you he would not be able to fight the next day.

This is not canelo or GGG who are 170+ in camp cutting huge amounts of water to weigh in at 160 and re hydrating to 170+. Connor could do this himself if he wanted but this is not the approach they are taking.

              Words from his nutritionist.

“For an MMA fighter to reload, they’ll gain 15, 18 pounds, which gives them that advantage (on fight night). Boxing, I want him actually walking in close to weight the week of the fight. Walking in, weighing in and maybe gaining a couple pounds after that.”

^This is from the mouth of his own nutritionist.

Not that i wish to create an appeal of authority but i do have experience with weight cutting my self and i can assure you If he is 160lbs right now and he fed and hydrated which he will be, it is not possible for him to be 170lbs in that ring without eating so much food he would not be in any shape to fight. The only way he is 170 in the ring on fight night is if hes close to 170lbs right now before he starts his weight cut and he isn't

When fighters gain weight after a weigh in what do you think that weight consists of? do you think they are gaining 10-15lbs of muscle over night? lol its nothing but water weight, glycogen and food.

Try it for your self, go and weigh your self and eat as much food as you can for the next 24 hours and see how many lbs you can gain and how you feel after, i guarantee you won't gain 10lbs and you will be in no shape to fight the next day.

Fellow UFC fighter Diego Sanchez has claimed that Conor McGregor is walking around at 174lbs today, which is about 13kg heavier than he was at yesterday's weigh-in.

                https://www.joe.ie/sport/ufc-fighter...igh-ins-523215

Eight days out from his fight with Chad Mendes at UFC 189 in July, 2015, McGregor told Chad Sonnen that he weighed 172lb and needed to lose 28lb in eight days.

Conor McGregor has courted controversy in the past with the severity of his weight cuts for fights but he looks in the shape of his life ahead of tomorrow's bout with Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

McGregor was weighing 170+ for 145 fights

McGregor was weighing 170+ for 145 fights
                  See highlighted bold text

Connor was 172lbs 8 days out. He cut a huge amount of water and rehydrated to 174 just 2lbs heavier than he was before, Nothing surprising about this at all.

This time he is 160lbs 10 days out and needs to loose 6lbs not 28lbs, its not even comparable

Like i said fighters always rehydrate back to what their walking weight was prior the the weight cut within a couple of lbs, connor was walking around at 172 just 8 days out at that time and re hydrated to 174, This time he is walking around at 160 10 days out and won't weigh much more than that.

Canelo is in the 160s 30 days out but steps in the ring above 170. There's more than one method to cutting weight and putting back on before the fight.

He was weighing in the 170s fight night when he was at 145, if you think he's going to be in the 160s when he's weighing in at 154 you're a moron.

You do realize they cut weight for the 30 day weigh in right?.
