That's cute and all, but no.

Cheating is when you purposely miss weight, or let's say...spit out a mouthpiece over and over.

No one knows for sure that Castillo missed weight on purpose, and even if he did, the fight would not have been held at all unless Corrales WANTED it. That wouldn't have made Castillo a cheater, it'd have made Corrales dumb.

Anyway, refer to the weigh-in video. To say Castillo cheated is a conclusion based in supposition and speculation, not reality.

I saw the weight in video and how would you expect him to look if he KNOWS that he is not gonna make weight? Of course he looks distraught (fiend or genuine is speculation) but he has to at the very least be embarrased by this. He is a professional.

In the first fight it was noted by many Casstillo fans that his reason for not making weight was do to injury.

I'm not saying Castillo cheated but there are very few options here when he signed on for the 3rd fight at 135lbs.

a)Never intended to make weight
b)Thought he could make it and just couldn't

Even if.............I dont want to say anything to visceral in reaction so I'll cool down before I post again. I think my biggest grudge is that there wont be a potentially GREAT fight now.

it would be incorrect to call him a cheater unless he actually did cheat somehow. i remember the foot under the scale incident last time, but that was part of castillo's team - technically he didn't cheat, but his team tried to.

coming in overweight, a secong time in a row, is not necessarily cheating, but it is a slap in the face to corrales, to every single boxing fan on the planet, and a serious act of classlessness considering the situation. i hope he loses a lot of fans tonight.

No it doesn't, I think it was evident to everyone that if he came in even a 1/2 pound overweight that it was going to be a HUGE issue. But 5 pounds is unexcusable.

However, it doesn't make JLC a "cheater".
A huge embrassment FOR THE TIME BEING, yes.
But a cheater, no.
