Berchelt was already name dropped as an option by Loma and by Arum. He could've challenged Loma right after winning the title from Vargas but instead decided to fight his mandatory Miura. Corrales was made good offers twice but declined them and lied about having a bigger fight in Japan the last time. He turned down offers that would've landed him on HBO. He's now a Golden Boy fighter and just fought Castellanos in a fight where he didn't look good at all.Comment

So much for Berchelt being a potential opponent.
This ukrainian hypejob will beat up on a completely washed up Salido next and his fans will procaim him the goat because it was "only his 11th fight" lmao. #LomoBumsquadComment

I said nothing about ducking. I frankly think Salido is the better choice given these two options - SIMPLY BECAUSE it's the one that can be marketed. I don't care if he never fights Rigo because Rigo is just too old at this point.
I don't downplay any decisive win, or any underdog win. Thus why I support Jeff Horn as much as I do.
But the reality is that Rigo is old. He's not at the top of the game. If Loma faced a guy like Tank or Garcia, he'd be facing a threat that's fresh off a dominant win. Not a guy who is fresh off a no contest because the ref was incompetent.
Salido's old too, but he's coming off a stoppage win AND he holds a victory over Loma. Given these two as choices the fight basically sells itself. Hell, if I were promoting Salido, I'd be all over the fact that everyone's favorite poster boy (and I AM a fan of Loma, BTW) got beat by a guy who drives Uber between fights. Just to piss Loma off.
We know bob arum loves nothing more than to move cubans up two weight classes to pay for a loss.
I am not sure how much Rigondeaux has fallen, since we never actually had a chance to see him professionally in his prime, and he hasn't been able to showcase his talent against the elite level competition either.
He is a bit of an unknown quantity at this point.
Its possible he could do what he does to everyone and just outbox loma.
I don't think its worth even talking about though, because its pretty clear that Arum has no interest in making the Rigo fight happen. Its going to be Salido.Comment
