  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Rigondeaux, Salido Are Lomachenko's Options for 12/9

One way or the other, Vasyl Lomachenko seemingly will get an opponent he wants to fight in his next bout. Promoter Bob Arum told the Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire on Monday that they'll decide between Guillermo Rigondeaux and Orlando Salido as the foe for Lomachenko's next fight. The WBO super featherweight champion is scheduled to return to the ring December 9 in a main event ESPN will televise.

I hope Rigo - Loma happens. It has to.

I hope its at MSG also. One train and I'm there.

As one of the like 4 Rigo fans in this site: I think Loma wins. Size and youth are on his side. Both are exceptionally skilled.

          Let's see...

          Face his 'Salido problems'...or...

          face a clearly over-the-hill Rigondeaux.

          I'm guessing Rigo gets picked.

For what? Saying Rigo is over the hill, or expecting him to be chosen over Salido?

I'm sorry. The Amagasa fight was a disgrace and that Flores fiasco was even worse. Rigo went from box office to basic almost overnight.

Besides, I still feel that Loma needs to learn from Lennox Lewis about avenging losses. A Rigo win doesn't do anything for him because Rigo hasn't been spectacular in the last two years. Salido wouldn't be much better, but at least they can sell the fact that Loma is trying to avenge the one loss on his record - like Adonis Stevenson did against Darnell Boone.
