When a Fighter You Like Does Something You Don't Like

I always liked Erik Morales. El Terrible brought it in the ring just about every time and is easily a respected Hall of Famer.

However, in his first fight with Guty Espadas, Jr., he just didn't look like the terrific fighter he was. By the end of the fight, he was more or less running and surviving and got a decision which can be argued for being generous.

Of course, he smashed Espadas in the rematch which helped vindicate him but I really didn't like that performance.

Have you watched one of your favorites disappoint you in a fight?

Oscar for running against Tito and not giving us the fight we wanted. Barrera for not having a better go against Pacquiao in the rematch after all those years of waiting. Floyd for not turning up the heat on Baldomir, Marquez or Mosley.

him and espadas jr were very good friend, morales even let the kid mob it in his car in TJ before the notion of them facing each other was ever brought up. Morales didnt want to fight him. However inbetween the rematch guty was talking shit so morales brought it in the 2nd fight.

Morales is probably my favorite fighter on all times but what I didnt like about him but I give him a pass cause it was already on the extended part of his past prime career and it would be when he would motion to the ref for some help to get the person off him or something like that but I hate that in all fighters..

Pacquiao has been disappointing me for about the last 5 years. Not really from a performance standpoint but just the crappy fights he's been taking. I can only blame Arum for so long.

Hardcore GGG fan but how could you not be disappointed with the Brook farce?

Martinez against Cotto. I mean I guess it's his life and why not grab the cash but that ranks up there as one of the hardest fights to watch.

Pacquiao being delusional in the mayweather fight was a huge disappointment

Yeah, I'd read where they were friends. I guess you can't be nice to some people. He definitely wasn't nice in the rematch. Haha.

I think Morales just faded so fast.

130 up he just didn't look the same. Even against the likes of Chavez and Famoso despite winning he didn't impress. But they are good underrated fighters but Morales obviously more than a level above. And Chavez in partiuclar pushed him very close and had him badly rocked.

That's excluding the Pacquao win where he turned back the clock.

Legend though, one of my all time favourites.
