I'm ambivalent towards that? Some fighters fight then disappear on a 3 month hiatus and those are the twice a year fighters.

Dude stop talking out your ass. The GGG mandatory was due long before Canelo had the title, it was due on Cotto already, and the wbc had delayed it long enough even then.

Canelo went into the Cotto fight with full knowledge of this, in fact the only reason the wbc allowed he step aside was because both fighters promised to fight GGG immediately after. But Cotto dropped the belt after using the wbc belt as leverage in negotiations with Canelo, and Canelo reneged on his promise to fight GGG immediately after and asked for a voluntary defense (that he didn't deserve). Again the wbc allowed him this curtousy even though the mandatory defense was already LONG due, with the promise that negotiations would start 15 days after the UNDESERVED voluntary.

But when the time came to negotiate, Canelo did want he wanted to do all along and ducked GGG by vacating the title, using the WBC as a scape goat for his cowardice.

Canelo aint the victim here, you can't hide the truth, we know what happened.
