Andre Berto, as mismatch as that was, was a former 2-time champion and a name in the boxing world.

Jeff Horn came out of NOWHERE. Hardly ranked, undefeated, had fought some names well past the sell date. Nobody understood where he came from or how he got the opportunity. And I say that as a proud fan of his.


I disagree that Pac/Horn wasn't worthy of ESPN. That's exactly where it belonged, and had it been a PPV, there would have been refunds given.

Why would there be refunds given when horn vs pacquiao was a fun action pack fight that had everyone loving boxing again on social media until the decision where they claimed robbery?

Huge Mayweather fan but he needs to stop with the bs, he's in no position to point fingers after this and Berto. I didn't really blame him for either, Connor is a ridiculous payday and with Berto he really had nothing else to prove, but don't go pointing fingers when you've done worse.

I'm glad he retired when he did, and I'm glad this will be his last, I was looking forward to the fresh blood coming through and the longer he and Pac stick around the more shine gets taken way from them.

And no, I don't think the ratings will be that large outside of it being on free TV. Many people swore off Pacquiao for the first fight.

Manny fought on Espn because his opponent was so unknown (which Floyd is right about) but then it wasn't a fight the public had to pay for either.... Only reason why I can imagine Mayweather vs Berto being ppv is because at the time it was Floyd's last fight. Other than that Floyd vs Berto should have been on regular tv as well.

On top of that, it was Floyd's historical 49th fight.

Yet he stunk it up by selecting a head scratching name such as Berto who got clobbered by the likes of Ortiz, Guerrero, Karass,..... nobody in their wildest dreams would think that Floyd would have cherry picked Berto for that 49th fight.

Now for his 50th fight, Floyd cherry picks a guy that had never fought as a pro or amateur as a boxer.


I'm sure that they are counting on that the so called "hype" will fool enough suckers into buying this farce but not me. Notice that unless Floyd's cherry picked opponents overachieve, after Floyd's fights people keep on saying it was a boring non-PPV worthy fight and more importantly, non-PPV worthy performance by Floyd. Just 12 rounds of nothingness by Floyd.

If McGregor shows any type of risk, Floyd will just stay on cruise control for 12 easy rounds and get the nod by his Vegas judges. We have seen this all before.
