Maybe this is another argument for boxing to have a commission, instead of having all these sanctioning bodies that obviously can't handle monitoring fighters. Right now it's all on the fighters shoulders to make weight for the fight. How many fighters have their weight monitored throughout training camp? It seems like it would be in the best interest of the sanctioning bodies to do everything in their power to make sure if a fight is booked that it will take place, for the reasons you mentioned above. It just seems kind of ****** that they'd put all this time and money into a fight, but leave all of the onus for the fighters to actually make weight on the fighter. They say they were monitoring Castillos weight, but they obviously did a **** job, because they should have known a week ago that this wasn't going to happen. That said he could have put on weight since their last check.
