Look, we are all boxing fans and we are all thirsty for a fight this week but we have enough big fights coming up to hold us over.
So I say why are all of you upset? Im loving it
If you recall, I made a thread a week ago saying that the best ending to this fight would be a draw but this is even better. My reason for saying that was because both Hatton & Cotto wanted to fight the winner of this fight and I wouldve loved to see each of them fight Cotto & Chico. You could tell that this is the fight both of them really wanted for there next bout but someone was going to end up losing out and now I think we will get to see that.
I think we will see Arum make Cotto vs Castillo if he's fortunate enough to get past Paulie and I think we will see Hatton vs Chico.
Its also great because I think both of those fighters would be in bad shape after this trilogy. E****ally Chico. It wouldve took alot out of them and they wouldnt be the same. Now Chico has that long rest and both can move to 140. Now Hatton couldve still faced Gatti at 147 but alot of people think Baldomire will win that fight and you guys dont like Hatton at 147 anyway, so why not let Hatton go down to 140 and fight Chico. I might even like to see that fight happened in Manchester and you know Chico would go.
It sucks for now guys but its great for the future because both Chico & Castillo are known for not ducking anyone and going after big fights, and you know that both Hatton & Cotto think they can beat the smaller men. Then look at all 4 of there styles. Its matches made in heaven. Infact I could see Arum being sneaky and telling Castillo, "dont try to hard to make the weight because I already have a fight setup for you and Cotto but you wont get it if you lose". Arum also knows that if Castillo loses then he wouldve lost out on a bunch of money for the Cotto-Castillo fight and just future Castillo fights because the loser of this one wouldve had a big setback. Also remember that Floyd just left him so he needs Castillo to win and he wants that Cotto fight.
Then guys if they both win they can fight at 140. Both of these guys have been great for boxing and it would suck to see one of them have to lose this fight and miss out on the big oppurtunites. This way everyone wins. Am I the only one who thinks it would be great if it worked out that way?
