Jose Luis Castillo has just weighed in at 140 or FIVE POUNDS above the lightweight limit. Corrales weighed in right at the 135 limit. After Corrales made weight, Castillo got on the scale again and weighed 139.5. Castillo now has two hours to lose two pounds. IF he can do that, Castillo will be given another two hours to lose the balance. At that point, they'll decide if we have a fight. Promoter Bob Arum has stated previously that Castillo was facing big penalties if he could not make weight. It is rumored he would forfeit 25% of his purse to Corrales. (More to come!!!)

no way he loses this weight..

There should be a number of weigh in dates for a fight. I'm not sure if it's possible, but that way you could decide to call of a fight because 1 week out a guy doesn't look close to making weight, and you could call in some journeyman who's in shape all year to fill out the card.

I mean, I change my mind about this being a matter of professionalism. It's common practice for guys to bloat up after a fight, and then work their asses off to get the weight off over a six to eight week camp. That said, these guys are pros and it should be a full time job. They should be in shape all year, so they know they're near their optimal weight, and they can't drop much further without great difficulty. Then it's none of this, I'll sign for this fight at 135, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to lose the necessary 35lbs and the fight is off.

For Corrales...luck never happens when Castillo is overweight. They need to be even in the scales for Corrales to kick up his fortunes.

dont be all that surprised, there are 2 great reasons.

              1) this is a BIGGG fight and its free on SHOWTIME, so many wont bother spending money and goin out to see it in Vegas.

              2) Last weekend was Memorial weekend and EVERYONE was in Vegas on a long weekend, its tough for them to cough up alot of money and go again.

This applys greatly for my hometown Glendale and im sure most of LA.

We all already know Castillo is a dirty fighter and is a cheater. this is twice now against corrales, what a disgrace, i hope corrales does'nt take the fight, unless castillo makes an Appropriate weight...and if he does, I hope chico knocks the **** out of him, I used to like castillo but come on, if you cant make weight, dont fight in that division

                    its a legitimate excuse!
He came in 5 pounds over!!
Its clear that he wasnt even trying to make weight.

if castillo makes the weight and the fight happens, Corrales will win via TKO.
if castillo doesn't make the weight, it will be canceled.
However, if Corrales decides to fight anyway, he'll get knocked the **** out again unless he boxes.
