  • Thoughts on Floyd going to 160 to face Canleo/GGG winner?

Probably a silly question but does anyone think Floyd might target Canelo if he is crowned the undisputed Middle weight Champion? Do you guys think its possible that if GGG won it that Floyd still might go for it any way if he walks to a victory vs. Mc0-0.

He'd still make either come to 154. But I doubt Floyd wants to fight anymore. He already schooled Canelo, if Canelo beats GGG why would Floyd fight him again. And GGG simply isn't a name to warrant enough interest to make the fight big enough to pay Floyd.

Floyd isn't fighting for less than $200 Million.

Nope, he won't fight anyone at their best.

          You're right it's a silly question.

Floyd is done after this next fight. People need to learn to let him go away. Stop mentioning him as a boxer already, we might still get to see him in promotional stuff but damn just ****ing stop with trying to match him with anybody anymore. It's pointless, let him have whatever legacy you think he has and move on to the next guy you hate/idolize.

Does a fight with either guy get him close enough to his likely $300m take on the McGregor fight to bother with HBO, or ease the frayed feelings for Showtime to work in any way with Oscar De La Hoya?

            The easy answer is no.

Floyd will cash this last check, and will ride off into the sunset, traveling the world until he gets tired of that, with the rest of his money growing for him in his investments/real estate and businesses, hoping to one day turn a fighter signed to him into a box-office superstar (Gervonta "Tank" Davis is the second young fighter to get that chance, but Floyd "Cashflow" Diaz Jr is also a few years away from his own chance).

They'll be at their best now, then if he fights the winner at 160, they would be too old, past it, worn out, or some other BS. Then after the fight when he's declared the winner, it will be that he ran, elbowed, not an ATG because he doesn't get hit in the face enough, etc. Same old tired bull****

I don't have any thought on it because it won't happen.

40 year old Floyd will retire after the McGregor fight.

He won't fight again after that.

Floyd might concievably beat Plod at 160, because Plod can't handle movement.

Golovkin knows how to use his feet and cut the ring doe. GGG would do what Maidana did in his first fight with Floyd ... x10.

Unless his fight with Conor has some cooked up outcome, and they end up fighting a rematch.
