Doesnt matter how many wins canelo has at MW. Its no excuse, hes a full blown MW and should have been fighting there alot earlier. He will still be the same and wont be a lesser version of himself at the weight. FFS he looked bigger than chavez in his last fight.

And since GGG is viewed as a bum hype job he will have to get massive credit for beating someone like canelo.

And yet another poster who continues to talk ****** crap about the Ward-Golovkin non fight. At least you were up front and admitted you are biased. I've found with haters though that talking rationally doesn't do much and I'm sure the Golovkin "ducked" Ward talk will continue.

Golovkin and Sanchez didn't talk endlessly about 168lbs. The original comment was made in 2012, 168lbs to 154lbs. Golovkin was struggling to get a big fight. They talked but Ward said he couldn't do it then, this was about the time when he was going through all his BS (injury, promoter, IDK what else). When Ward called out Golovkin that was 3 years later, that was when Golovkin was on the cusp of finally getting his shot at establishing himself as the MW champion and getting the big money fights. So he was supposed to throw everything away to hope that Ward (who wasn't even fighting at 168lbs) and him could come to an agreement? There never was any serious negotiating. It also just happened that Ward's proposal came when his stablemate Cotto was getting tons of pressure to fight Golovkin. Just by chance right?

All you guys spouting this are ridiculous, you want Golovkin to do something that nobody in his given situation has doe or would have done, throw the chance to be the undisputed MW champion and millions down to go up in weight and POSSIBLY face a guy who had been relatively inactive and wasn't even fighting at 168lbs. GTFO.

I would have liked to see the fight happen but it wasn't meant to be. Nobody ducked anyone. Had Golovkin established his dominance at MW 2 years before then I think there is a chance the fight could have happened. Unfortunately Golovkin didn't get his shot sooner (of course this is all assuming he wins against Canelo). At 168lbs I would give Ward the edge, because I see a significant natural size advantage on Golovkin plus Ward's a helluva fighter.

I'll speak in general. Yes I've seen a lot of hate for Golovkin and in my experience an awful lot of it is because he's white (though Kazakhs apparently are a mix of different groups, so maybe he has some Asian blood in him too). I don't think Golovkin has a great resume, it is about the same as Bernard Hopkins going into the Trinidad fight (excluding RJJ who he lost to). You heard the same stuff that Hopkins didn't face anyone and was a fraud until he destroyed Tito.

You are hating on a guy who came to the US and has fought in the MW division his whole career, has done all he can to become the undisputed MW champion. He hasn't dodged any other MW and it is well known that he has been ducked in the division for years. The guy has an exciting style but you dislike him. SMH, some people are just so lame, they have to find a reason to hate someone or something.

ya ...we heard the same garbage about how brook was really the same size as ggg and would never fight at WW again after GGG...cept he fought at WW his next fight and quit against GGG at the first sign of real trouble......brandon rios weighed 170 on fightnight against tim bradley and that meant nothing......how much experience does canelo have taking punches and fighting guys the size of MWs? you do remember canelo was whitewashed by a WW right?

Nobody cares if GGG goes up to fight Ward now....because we KNOW he WONT.....he wouldnt even fight him at 168.....in late 2015 Ward asked Golovkin to fight in 2016 at 168 after one tuneup fight each after Golovkin fought lemieux.....GGGs team replied NO in 35 minutes...they didnt even say theyd see or think about it...just no.....so no one realistically expects ggg to go to 175 to fight a guy he ducked at 168 before that guy knocked out krusher...LOL...we all know GGG dont have the stones for that

He beat a guy at a CW for that MW title...and that guy won the title at a CW....and when canelo got it he defended it at a CW against a WW....lol......aint no middleweights there boss
