Comments Thread For: Seeing Pacquiao Bloodied, Battered by Horn Made Bradley Retire

Timothy Bradley boxed 36 rough rounds against Manny Pacquiao, but it was another Pacquiao fight that convinced Bradley to retire. Bradley wasn't sure if he wanted to fight again when he arrived in Australia to call Pacquiao's upset defeat to Jeff Horn for ESPN last month. But after looking at a battered, bloodied Pacquiao following his controversial loss July 2 in Horn's hometown of Brisbane, Bradley realized he didn't want to box again.

So a fight fans universally think Manny won convinced him to retire because Manny as always had some damage?

more like Bradley watching a basic fighter like horn (who pac would've utterly destroyed a few yrs back) give pac a tougher than expected fight made him realize that its better to get out before you get beaten by a school teacher.

The Ruslan fight took a lot out of Bradley. The fact that he managed to survive and win that fight is incredible to me. Ever since that fight he's been wondering if it's still all worth it. I've always been a huge Bradley fan, not because he was the most gifted, but because he's determination to win was unparalleled. Thanks for the memorable fights.

Wow so basically Jeff Horn scared Bradley into retirement. He knew he was going to get the call next from Bob to fight Horn and he was like nope, peace!

Bradley is smart. He sure made enough cash, especially in the 3 Pac fights, so why not enjoy it and his family.

Smart way to look at the sport, or in general about anything when its feasible to do, through other people's mistakes.

Respect to Tim for being one of the few "smart ones" in boxing & realize he's set up $-wise, he's accomplished enough in his career that he's satisfied & he realizes your body has limits that boxing will eat up as a snack.

Wish more cats would get out once they start hitting their early 30's or even late 20's for some cats. Even most great fighters have been shot by 33, 34, 35. And Tim turns 34 this month.
