It's a pointless match up.. But as Whyte said on IFL Interview.. It's only a 8 rounder because he's going to be headlining his own show against someone like Wilder or Miller in October.. It might even be on the undercard of AJ so that's why he's fighting a easy touch up.
i hate this. cant fault whyte--wilder and miller wouldnt do it. wtf is is with the american heavyweights?
i still wish they could
fine someone better. frickin shannon briggs would do it wouldnt he? hell who knows. seems like no live bodies would do it. i wish i knew who se they were askin--someone mentioned brazeale or mansour heck thatd be a damn solid matchup.
Miller just fought a week ago. He isn't going to fight Whyte on 3 weeks notice for peanuts. Wilder has a mandatory. They want a cheap opponent for an 8 round fight. I said offer it to Mansour but that won't happen unless it's a 12 round WBC eliminator. Why would any contender take an 8 round fight on short notice for no money?

Why did the Whyte/Wach fight fall through? That would of been a good fight for both. That was suppose to be in June. It was a bad summer for cancelled HW fights. Chisora/Helnius rematch didn't happen either for whatever reason.

Apparently Whyte was injured. But I think it's because they struggled to sell tickets.. It was a good fight but casuals don't know Wach. Whyte was promoting the fight saying he was fighting a well known American which got people excited but when they announced it was Wach it put people off because they were expecting Wilder or Jennings.
