Respect champx you had an exemplary career that other young fighters should look into and learn from!

Always came into fights in primed conditioning and showed he can dish and take it!

    Showed he can box smartly

Showed what a warriors soul looks like

Showed what it took on the road to becoming a champion

Showed boxing is a business and it is temporary so you must secure your future before boxing retires you

Showed as a veteran the willingness to let a young lion a shot

And last but not least showed the heart of a champion by never giving up even when losing!

See ya Desert Storm, your work will be missed as time passes!

He certaintly got hurt bad in his last couple of fights. It's better to retire mow while he still have his health. Still young IMO but he's putting his family first. Got to respect that.

Especially when we were getting fights, we didn't really want to see like Pacquiao 3 (but it made sense, cos it made money). His resume could of been ever more stacked, had he been able to fight those guys. Really wanted him to go out with a big fight like Miguel cotto, and if he pulled off a win against him it would of probably been his biggest legit win of his career, whilst cementing his legacy. But such is life, the wear and tear of boxing takes its toll eventually and the Ruslan fight in particular he took a lot of punishment, probably shortened his career. Great career nonetheless.
exactly. I always said many years from now im going to look back at boxing and talk to my friends about these fictitious matchups that never happened. Not because these fighters fought in different eras but because of the sorry ass politics of boxing. So many great fights at 147 that us fans will never see.

                Certainly not a HOF'er, IMO.
Why certainly not? I just don't understand what is wrong on this board.

                He only lost to Pacquiao.

In my book he might really have a better record than Andre Ward who is a certain HOF on this board.

Wins over Junior Witter, Casamayor, Holt, JMM, Manny, Nate Campbell beat undefeated fighters like Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Jessie Vargas.

He ducked Khan to fight the Ghost of Casemayor.

Got saved by the ref against Ruslan he was dropped 3 times against him.

Only fought Devon after Kotelnik humiliated him.

Before all the above he was the real deal.

Will still go down as a much greater fighter than good ole paper champ vacant title king whom many here claim atg lol.
