I'm a Lomachenko fan but let's be serious, he's not fighting guys who were the same calibre as Floyd's opponents. And the excuse can't be that he's had only a few fights, he's already considered one of the very best in the sport.
Let's see how he's closing the show when/if he's got opponents as good as Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto etc..
And it's not as if Floyd wasn't doing that in the earlier years.Comment

Lomachenko closes the show against boxers with no hope of winning. He didn't against Salido, Russell Jr, and Walters closed the show on himself.Comment

Mayweather's career is comprised of 80% his talent in the ring and 20% favorable scoring by Vegas judges who give him any round he isn't completely dominated in.
There is clearly an asterisk next to Floyd's boxing resume. He also never fought the best at their most dangerous time above 135. He lost to Castillo the first time - it's not even debatable at this point. I don't even think Floyd clearly won the rematch with Castillo - I scored that fight a draw or a 7-5 to Floyd - it's totally debatable but FIomos have controlled the narrative acting like Floyd dominated - the score cards were basically all 115-113 for Floyd v. Castillo 2. Floyd should have a loss on his record just like Loma.Comment

The quality of that 130 list alone trumps anything Loma has done. I love his ability but that Floyd comparison is laughable at this point. Floyd's resume is actually silly (really amazing) when compared to nearly anyone. I can only think of a handful (more like 10 -12 tbh) of fighters after 1960 who are in that league.Comment
