Comments Thread For: Cotto Ready To Retire: I Achieved More Than I Ever Imagined

A few days ago, former four division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33 KOs) made it clear that he intends to retire from the sport of boxing once the clock strikes midnight on December 31, 2017. Cotto has been out of the ring since November of 2015, when he lost a competitive twelve round decision to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Yeah but he still didn't beat those A level fighters. He'll be remembered a good fighter and nothing great. Sorry, but that's the simple fact. Also, a sorry lose who barged out like the diva he is after losing

He beat a better version of Mosely then Floyd and Pac, Also if paper champ Froch is seen as great then Cotto must be seen as greater.

Very good for him to retire on his own terms. He made his money. Is a future HOFer

Every fight he had he gave all.

              Ah mas que nada....

He had a great career but I just think it would have been even better had it not been for the first Margarito fight.

Your counting the first margarito fight against him when the guy was clearly loading up with plaster wraps is horrible without them you are no judge of his then

Yes! I'd go see that. Would like to get to see Miguel Cotto live even if he is shot.
