First fight ended due to a cut and when Klitschko was mandatory for the rematch, Lewis retired. Did he duck Vitali? And who wins the rematch?
Did Lewis duck Klitschko?

I feel nostalgic. We didnt have a thread like this since 2013 at least...
they used to be the most common threads a few years ago.
bottom line, who cares. two best HW fights in the last 15 years included klischkos. though they lost in both cases, they both gained respect after them.
lennox was past it, he made a right decision.Last edited by Simurgh; 08-03-2017, 05:05 PM.Comment

I don't think so. I think it was the right time to retire.
Besides, he won their first fight by TKO. It was his punches that caved Vitali's face in and he was taking over the fight anyway, whether people like it or not. Yeah it wasn't an easy night for Lewis and that was an old out of shape Lewis. It was clear that he should probably hang them up anyway even though he got the win.
I don't think his retirement was a duck, i think it was just the fight was a realisation he was not the fighter he used to be.Comment

If you dont care, dont comment in the thread. Nobody cares whether you care or not. Was something i was curious about, who gives a **** if you care?I feel nostalgic. We didnt have a thread like this since 2013 at least...

you obviously werent around a few years ago. these threads would drag for tens of pages and ended up with 'tko6', gifs of lennox being koed by rahman, etc..

Depends on whether you consider it ducking to be driven into retirement by a specific fighter.
Lewis would have kept fighting if he had another few years of Tysons, Rahmans and Tuas to tower over. No doubt about it. He was still in his 30s and cashing in on his highest purses.
On the other hand I just don't know if it counts as a "duck" to willingly step aside and let the guy you just had a very controversial fight with take over.
It wasn't like he was holding anything hostage or holding anyone else back. He made a courteous exit.Comment

Of course he ducked him. it was an ordered/offered rematch and Lewis made Vit fight then #1 contender Kirk Johnson and then walked the day before stripping.Comment
